Supporting Colorado - One Meal at a Time
Hi, my name is Kimberly Jones and this little cutie is Oakley. He is the newest member of the goat mowing family. Goat Mowers is not your every day start-up and how we got started is not your everyday story.
We own a ranch out east and its been in the family for 40 plus years. When the kids were growing up, they would show goats at 4-H. We kept the goats as pets and as our human family grew, so did our goat family. However, as kids often do, our kids left home, but these kids stayed and multiplied. Before we knew it, we had a herd of goats.
This begs the question, What do you do with a herd of goats? As we would tell our human kids, figure out what you are good at and love what you do. We knew from experience that these goats love devouring all kinds of vegetation. They eat weeds, thistle, poison ivy, and things that we would never touch unless we were wearing thick gloves. Additionally, they can go almost anywhere to eat, including steep hillsides, thick vegetation, and areas that are not accessible by lawn mowers. Finally, goats are nature's answer to fire mitigation which is a serious issue for Colorado. Just put the herd where they are needed the most and in a few hours or days, your problem is solved.
We love our goat family and we want to share them, and their exceptional mowing skills, with you. Give us a call for an estimate and to schedule a visit to your hard to mow areas. We guarantee that your yard or field will get an outstanding manicure and you will laugh as you enjoy watching our goat family feast on your unwanted vegetation.

When shopping around for the best solution to your landscaping needs, you may have a ton of question you need answered. Because goats require our undivided attention, we will attempt to answer 3. We have compiled a list of questions that you that may help you decide if you want to hire a landscaping team, or our goats.
Although there are fuel costs associated with transporting goats from our farm to you, landscapers must also transport equipment to your location. However, once on site, goats do not require any additional fuel to operate. They will run on what they eat and, unlike their farm neighbor the cow, they do not emit carbon fumes as they mow. Just add water and these goats will run forever.
Winner - goats.
Man requires many more tools and steps to clear your property. Landscaping companies arrive at your site with mowers, weed whackers, gas cans for refueling, and fertilizer. And don’t forget the lunch break.
With our goats, there's no filling of gas tanks, no sharpenning of blades, no swapping of tools, and your lawn IS their lunch break.

Our goats love to eat and they eat anything in their path. They do not stop to trim or level grass/trees in their way. They consume it and move on. If that grass resides on a 90 degree hilltop, our goats are going after it. They may not be the Picasso of lawns, but they can go where man and his weed whacker cannot.
What goats lack in refinement, they make up for in volume. Our goats can clear quite a significant swath of land in a short period of time. So, if you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing lawn covered with well manicured and wispy topiary, then this may not be the solution for you; our goats have eaten that bush and moved on. Even if they did have opposable thumbs, the goats would be more interested in eating the bush than shaping it. So if you are looking to clear a field - goats are your answer. If you are trying to win the Lawn of the Month award, this is probably not your best option.
